About Gonzalo Pasado

Gonzalo Pasado is an oil painter working at the intersection of figurative portraiture and pop art. Born from a classical training and a restless love of color, his canvases hold quiet human presence against saturated, contemporary palettes.

Over the past decade his work has moved through galleries and private collections across Europe and the Americas, always returning to a single question: how do we live alongside the people and images we love?

He paints from a light-filled studio, building each piece in translucent layers of oil until the figure seems to breathe on the canvas.

Artist Statement

I paint people the way I remember them — softened at the edges, lit from within, and impossible to fully hold. Pop art taught me to be unafraid of color; portraiture taught me patience. Every painting is an attempt to keep something before it disappears.
